Environmental Drilling

Soil borings, groundwater sampling, and environmental site assessment drilling for Phase I, II, and III investigations.

Test pit excavation in progress
Overview

Seylone provides environmental drilling services across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic to support environmental site assessments, contaminant investigations, and remediation programs. Environmental drilling delivers the soil and groundwater samples that environmental consultants and engineers use to characterize site conditions, define impact extent, and design remediation approaches.

Crews perform hollow-stem auger borings, direct-push (Geoprobe) sampling, sonic drilling, and conventional rotary drilling depending on site conditions, sample integrity requirements, and program objectives. Direct-push methods are used for rapid soil and groundwater sampling in unconsolidated materials. Hollow-stem auger is used for monitoring well installation. Sonic and rotary methods are used in challenging formations and at depth.

Programs typically include soil sampling for laboratory analysis, groundwater grab samples, soil vapor sampling, and the installation of monitoring wells when long-term monitoring is required. Seylone follows the environmental consultant's sampling protocol, decontamination procedures, and chain-of-custody requirements. Investigation-derived waste is managed and disposed in accordance with project-specific protocols.

The work supports Phase I, II, and III environmental site assessments, brownfield redevelopment, regulatory compliance investigations, and remediation system installation across both private redevelopment and public infrastructure programs. Seylone works as a specialty subcontractor to environmental engineering and consulting firms.
