Precision Trenching
Targeted excavation for utility installation, replacement, tie-ins, and access in congested urban infrastructure corridors.

Seylone provides precision trenching services across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic for utility installation, replacement, repair access, and tie-in connections in congested urban environments. Trenching operations are performed with full awareness of the surrounding utility matrix — every excavation is preceded by 811 markout verification, private utility locating where required, and continuous monitoring for unmarked or abandoned infrastructure.
Precision trenching is not general excavation. It is controlled, documented excavation performed in active streetscapes, utility corridors, and congested rights-of-way where multiple utility systems exist within inches of each other. Crews are trained to work safely around gas, electric, water, sewer, steam, telecom, and fiber infrastructure — exposing, protecting, and supporting existing utilities while installing new ones. Trench shoring and support of excavation use steel trench boxes, hydraulic shoring, and timber lagging where required.
Common applications include open-cut trenching for water main, sewer, gas, electric, telecom, and fiber optic utility installation, utility access trenching for tie-ins and service connections, trench dewatering through sump pumping and wellpoint systems, utility protection and support during exposure, and pipe bedding, backfill placement, and compaction per specification.
Seylone works as a specialty subcontractor to utility engineering firms and as a direct contractor to public agencies, utility owners, and general contractors delivering utility infrastructure. Surface restoration is performed in-house following trenching, so the program closes out with one party responsible for the entire scope.
