Limited Access / Interior Drilling

Geotechnical and environmental drilling for tight-access, low-headroom, and interior environments where conventional rigs cannot operate.

Test pit excavation in progress
Overview

Seylone provides limited-access and interior drilling services for sites where conventional truck-mounted and track-mounted rigs cannot reach. The work uses compact, modular drilling rigs that disassemble and pass through standard doorways, fit inside basements and crawl spaces, and operate under low-overhead conditions in occupied buildings, mechanical rooms, and active facilities.

Crews mobilize portable rigs through tight access points where traditional drilling equipment cannot operate. Common environments include building interiors during structural assessment, basement and cellar conditions for foundation investigation, low-overhead spaces under bridges and elevated structures, occupied facilities where dust and noise must be controlled, and confined sites where the working envelope is measured in feet rather than yards.

The full range of geotechnical and environmental drilling scopes is available in limited-access configurations: SPT borings, rock coring, soil sampling, monitoring well installation, and direct-push sampling. Sample integrity, depth, and quality match conventional rigs — only the access method and rig footprint change.

The work supports building condition assessments, foundation underpinning design, environmental investigations in active facilities, infrastructure investigation under bridges and viaducts, and any program where the access constraint would otherwise rule out a drilling-based investigation. Seylone works as a specialty subcontractor to engineering firms and as a direct contractor to facility owners.
